Edwin Gomez, MD
Edwin Gomez, MD joined the David Lawrence Center medical team as a part-time Adult, Child and Adolescent Staff Psychiatrist in Acute Care Services in 2015 and became full-time in 2017.
In addition to working at the David Lawrence Center, Gomez operates a private practice in Weston, Florida and provides psychiatric services at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.
Prior to joining the David Laurence Center, he served as Medical Director, Psychiatrist, Case Manager, Medical Interpreter, and Admissions Specialist at a variety of treatment settings throughout South Florida in both the residential, hospital, laboratory and community based mental health treatment centers.
Gomez participated in a variety of clinical research studies. He was the Principal Investigator for major depressive disorder and schizophrenia studies. He also served as a Sub-Investigator for ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, depression, worked on general medicine, schizophrenia, substance abuse studies as well as working on a women’s health study

Gomez is an active member of the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association. Gomez is bi-lingual and speaks English and Spanish.
