End of Year Holiday Drive

The stress of the holidays can make this time of year particularly difficult for neighbors struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, and many other behavioral health challenges. This year, to help provide some holiday cheer to clients who are on the path to recovery, David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) has created a Holiday Wish List on Amazon.

The Wish List has been created by DLC Clinical Directors, and the gifts will go to children and adult clients who are in inpatient and outpatient programs. The gifts range from art supplies to a set of journals. So, as you’re purchasing gifts for friends and family this holiday season (and most likely making numerous visits to Amazon), please consider adding a gift for a DLC client to your cart. Your generous gesture would certainly go a long way in making their holidays a little brighter!

Sarah, 32

I am a single mom who struggles with PTSD and is currently taking care of my young son. I am on a fixed income, and anything really would help. During the hurricane, our apartment flooded above the knees. My only car flooded and is currently not working so my main source of transportation was ruined. We lost nearly everything. My son’s birthday is September 28th, and all his toys were lost and birthday presents were gone. The power went out and we could not even make him a cake. We could no longer live in our apartment and have moved to another one provided by management.

In need of:

  • Kitchen Items
  • Bedding and towels
  • Toys for an 8 year old
  • Air Purifier for son’s allergies
  • Everyday household items

I am a young mother to a 3-month-old boy, and we lost many items during Hurricane Ian. Our home was flooded with three to four feet of water, and we lost many of my son’s items and many of our personal household items as well.

Items needed:

  • Diapers, clothing, and toys for a 3-month-old
  • Towels, bedding, and a mattress
  • Blankets
  • Toiletries, etc.
