Ashley Garcia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience providing substance abuse treatment since 2015 at David Lawrence Center. Within the Intensive Outpatient Program, Ashley assists clients to improve self-awareness, empower decision making skills, provide education and integrate tools that allow clients to understand patterns of addictive thoughts & behaviors, implement positive coping skills, maintain a healthy lifestyle and more.
Ashley’s experience has allowed her to develop the motivational interviewing and counseling theory skills to help her clients navigate the stressful and challenging time of early recovery. She takes pride in developing a strong therapeutic alliance and collaborates with her client towards change. Ashley uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and a little bit of Adlerian Therapy, as every client is unique on their own recovery journey and requires individualized care toward life-changing wellness.
