Gala Honored as “Best Themed Event”
Gulfshore Life magazine has recently recognized the David Lawrence Foundation’s 2011 annual gala event as the Best Themed Event in Southwest Florida.
The event recreated elements of India’s intoxicatingly rich history, exquisite palaces and temples, opulent royal cities, and diverse kaleidoscope of landscapes. Dinner, dancing, live entertainment and a silent auction all added to the excitement of this mystical themed event.
“From the invitations to the place settings, no detail was overlooked to create a lively and authentic evening,” wrote the Gulfshore Life editors. “Guests donned their best Indian-inspired apparel, too, making this soiree a bit more colorful than the average black-tie affair.”
With the bar set high, the David Lawrence Foundation’s Gala Committee is busy preparing for next year’s themed event. This time the evening will center on and will feature a wide range of entertainment along with dinner, dancing, and silent and live auctions.
This annual destination driven event will transport guests to the Havana social clubs of the 1930s. This gala is pure vintage Cuba, reminiscent of the luxurious hacienda of a rich tobacco or sugar plantation owner. The evening will bring the colorful opulence of Old Havana to Naples represented by Cuban Colonial architecture, colorful buildings and lush courtyards.
For those attending, “vintage Havana” attire is welcomed and encouraged. The ladies can come dressed in summery cocktail dresses, while the gentlemen can don cool linen guayaberas, plantation or tropical print shirts with collars, and smart fedoras.
Tickets to the event are $500 per person, $1,200 per VIP patron and $5,000 per table of 10. A variety of sponsorship opportunities and levels are also available. For more information, contact David Lawrence Foundation Development Director Monica Biondo at 239-304-3505.
