FoxFire Golf Tournament Benefits DLC for 12 Years
FoxFire Golf & Country Club, located off of Davis Boulevard, has been a generous donor for more than 12 years. This quaint, private gated community has a golf tournament held every year in January.
All of the proceeds from the tournament benefit local charities with more than 90% of the funds being raised from personal donations made by their members. Donald Shea, Director of Golf at FoxFire, states, “The mission of the tournament has always been to help local charities provide better services to those in need in our community. Since the tournament’s inception, we have raised over $200,000 for local organizations.” David Lawrence Centers has graciously been a recipient of the proceeds since the tournament began.
Their beautifully renovated club house and 27-hole Arthur Hills designed golf course makes a perfect setting for the shot gun start tournament which includes an awards dinner complete with a silent auction and raffle. Carol Shaw, Executive Director of the Foundation stated, “The staff at FoxFire are like family and welcome us each year for the check presentation and awards dinner. We can’t thank their members enough for this special partnership.”
To show the Foundation’s sincere appreciation, the Foundation Board recently acknowledged FoxFire Golf & Country Club as a corporate partner for their many years of dedicated support by presenting them with a special plaque.
