Bala Vinyasa Yoga Class Donation Helps Crossroads Clients Find Freedom and Recovery through Yoga
Bala Vinyasa Yoga has generously donated weekly yoga classes at their studio for clients enrolled in the Crossroads program, DLC’s 16-bed adult residential substance use treatment program. The biological and psychological benefits of yoga is a direct complement to the Crossroads treatment services which are designed to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual seeking treatment.
“The Bala Vinyasa Yoga team is honored to provide a weekly yoga flow class to addicts in recovery at the David Lawrence Centers . Our goal is to provide a community and safe haven for the Crossroads clients so they can find new hope through the calming and transformative effects of yoga,” said Kiersten Mooney, owner of Bala Vinyasa Yoga.
Christine Holmes, Director of Substance Abuse and Satellite Services at David Lawrence Centers, adds, “We are extremely grateful to Bala Vinyasa Yoga for their generosity. The will and determination that yoga requires will help our clients gain control over their body and mind. Giving our clients one more tool to manage the stress of every day living once they leave our program supports our goal of creating a life-changing and life-lasting recovery opportunity for individuals with a chemical dependency.”
