DLC to Host Inaugural “Tree of Hope” Tree Lighting Ceremony
Naples, Fl – David Lawrence Centers (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and addiction recovery treatment center serving children, adults and families, will host the inaugural “Tree of Hope” Tree Lighting Ceremony at David Lawrence Center’s main campus, located at 6075 Bathey Lane, on November 22, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
This family-friendly event will celebrate community, hope, and healing with a tree lighting ceremony of DLC’s Tree of Hope, an enormous and sprawling banyan tree that was planted by staff and clients in the late 1980s.
“The Tree of Hope is the centerpiece of the Polly Keller campus,” said Scott Burgess, David Lawrence Centers President and CEO. “It represents how one small seed, when nurtured, can grow beautiful and strong – unshakable even in the fiercest of storms. The roots holding up the limbs are like friends, family, and community, lifting one another up with hope. We can’t think of a better place to get into the holiday spirit and celebrate the healing that happens every day on this campus then under the beautiful lights of our gorgeous banyan tree.”
To help kick of the holiday season, there will also be carolers and holiday-themed activities for children provided by community partners. Light refreshments and food for purchase will be provided by a local food truck.
The event is free to attend. Donors are encouraged to #StandUp for mental health and become a Light of Hope by making a minimum donation of $100. To RSVP or become a Light of Hope donor, visit DLCTreeofHope.org or contact DLC at 239-354-1445 or donorcare@dlcmhc.com.
