DLC Promotes Jim Warnken to Chief Financial Officer; Scott Geltemeyer Announces Retirement After 30 Years
Naples, Fl – David Lawrence Centers (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and addiction recovery treatment center serving children, adults and families, is pleased to announce that James (Jim) Warnken has been tapped to fill longtime Chief Financial Officer Scott Geltemeyer’s position after he announced his retirement last year.
Geltemeyer, a Certified Public Account, joined the Center in 1988 as the Accounting Manager. He was then promoted to Controller before becoming Chief Financial Officer.
Geltemeyer said, “There are certainly a lot of mixed emotions announcing my retirement. DLC has been my home for more than 30 years, and I’ve truly enjoyed working alongside so many dedicated, passionate staff and volunteers who proudly provided much needed, quality health care to the citizens of Collier County.”
Geltemeyer adds, “Knowing that DLC and the accounting team has such a qualified, knowledgeable replacement on board in Jim Warnken, makes the decision to announce my retirement a bit easier.”
Jim Warnken joined DLC’s executive management team in 2015 as Chief Planning and Business Development Officer before being promoted to his new position as Chief Financial Officer. In that capacity, he worked closely with CEO Scott Burgess and the DLC Board to further the Center’s strategic initiatives designed to expand and enhance treatment services. Prior to that, Warnken served on DLC’s Board of Directors working closely with Geltemeyer on the Finance Committee.
Warnken has extensive leadership experience in healthcare administration and not-for-profit executive management. Prior to joining DLC, Warnken served as Executive Vice President of the United Way of Collier County, Chief Financial Officer of the NCH Healthcare System, Chief Executive Officer of DSI Laboratories, and Chief Financial Officer of Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center in Pennsylvania.
Warnken earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business with a major in accounting from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
Warnken’s community involvement includes currently serving as Chairman of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Collier County’s Finance Committee, and as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the DLC Board of Directors, he also formerly served on the Board of the Economic Development Council of Collier County and the Physician Led Access Network (PLAN). Warnken is a graduate of the Leadership Collier Class of 2001 and Leadership Lee Class of 1999. He was honored by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce with the Volunteer of the Year Award.
