David Lawrence Centers Honors Three at Celebration Reception
Naples, Fl – David Lawrence Centers (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and addiction recovery treatment center serving children, adults and families, will honor three individuals and businesses for their contributions to support the advancement of DLC’s mental health, substance use, and integrated healthcare solutions. About the Honorees:
Cummings & Lockwood, LLC, is being honored as Partner of the Year. Cummings & Lockwood has been a steadfast supporter of David Lawrence Centers for over 13 years. Through their partnership, they’ve helped further the conversation on the importance of mental health and substance use services in our community. In addition to their financial contributions to a variety of DLC fundraisers, they allow their expert staff to serve in leadership capacities on the Center’s various boards and committees.
Lavern Gaynor will be given the Stand-Up Award. Gaynor is being honored for her passion to bring awareness to adolescent mental health, in particular for her support of DLC’s efforts to provide early identification of at-risk children and community collaborations that increase access to services.
Gaynor is a well-known, celebrated philanthropist and community advocate. She remains actively involved and supportive of many charitable causes and civic organizations throughout Collier County, including The Community Foundation of Collier County, Collier Senior Resource Center, Champions for Learning, David Lawrence Centers, Naples Historical Society, and Friends of Rookery Bay.
Honorable Janeice Martin will be named Advocate of the Year. Judge Martin is being honored for her role in advocating for the needs of those struggling with mental health and addiction who have faced legal challenges as a result of their illness. For the last six years, she has served as the Circuit Court Judge presiding over Collier County’s Adult Treatment Courts, which includes: Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Veterans Treatment Court. In this capacity, she works tireless with DLC on a daily basis to help those struggling get access to the treatment and support they need to live a healthy, happy, and crime-free life.
